Remote oil filter line removal from block - advice requested
Hi, I'm changing my leaky lines on the remote oil filter adapter in my 03 Blazer. Having a bit of trouble getting the lines off where they meet up at the engine block at the adapter plate. Reading around on the forums, the best way to get this out is to remove the motor mount bolt on the driver side and jack the engine. Can anyone verify this worked for them? I was under mine last night and that looks like I might only get 1/2" to 1" which doesn't look like enough room to get these out.
Also it appears I can't take out the adapter plate on the block with the lines - I need to remove the lines first, right? Anyone have a better method than using a few 12" extensions and some patience? Thankfully this started as a water pump job so I have my radiator and fan out for more room which makes it easier but still hasn't been much fun.
Been scratching my head on this one, any help is appreciated!

yup that's how I did it. Actually my Motor mount was bad so I had it all the way out when I did the oil lines. Long extention. Funny how the Bolt is right there yet you can't get anything on it.
