Default Replaced TPS and now very rough idle and very poor acceleration..

Alright well I just replaced the throttle position sensor & the coolant temp sensor. The surging at idle problem i was having has been corrected BUT, now it seems that the idle speed is too low and now my truck shakes, as if its just about to die. Second issue is when i took it for a test drive the throttle response was hideous and with the pedal to the floor it barely accelerated. It also sounds like its running on 4 cylinders.

I checked all plugs to verify the plug wires were connected. I also just replaced the plugs about two months ago. These new problems are driving me crazy and im about to buy an OBD 1.5 scanner to get these codes read.

Thanks for the help!!,

What brand TPS and ECT sensor did you use? And which coolant sensor did you replace? With it being a 95 (assuming its the one in your sig), you may have two. One for the gauge (should be a single wire) and one for the actual computer. The gauge one has no impact on fuel trims or engine management.

Try swapping the old TPS in and see what happens. If you did replace the actual engine managmenet coolant sensor, and if putting the old TPS fixes things, you may have purchased a bad TPS.

These trucks like AC Delco parts, if you use parts other than AC Delco (or Delphi) on these trucks they can be bad right out of the box. Im not sure if this applies for the TPS but it wouldnt surprise me.

BillFrank, The TPS i bought from advance auto. BWD is the brand, here is the link to it: Buy BWD Throttle Position Sensor EC3012P at Advance Auto Parts

Its possible that I do have two different coolant/water temp sensors. According to this diagram there are two. So looking at that i replaced the water temp sensor on the right hand side of the diagram. Do I need to do the one on the left too?

The water temp sensor i replaced is a Delphi brand.

I would really consider taking them back and getting genuine OEM parts which I think would be made by DELPHI possibly...or ACDELCO...one of them. It's almost required when it comes to electrical parts. And judging by the picture, if you replaced the right hand sensor, then it's the one for the gauge. If your gauge worked before, I'd put in your old temperature sensor...and take the one you just purchased and exchange it for the right one. The one for the gauge should be a single wire connector...the other one should be a 2 wire connector.
