Default '02 alarm goes off all the time!!

I have to leave my car unlocked so it doesn't wake the neighbors REPEATEDLY during the night and at work so it doesn't **** my bosss off. it goes off several times during the night and day seemingly without provocation. should i at least disable the alarm so i can still lock it?

Is it the factory alarm system or aftermarket and does it go off without being armed?

Does it have a valet switch? do you have to arm it or it does it by itself? Can you get out of the truck press the door lock button and have it not go off when the door closes?

Well, to keep it from going off then, don't arm it. It sounds like an electrical short which can be a royal pain to locate.

as stated in an earlier post in this thread, thats what i do. but i usually leave my gun in it when i'm at work so i haven't been able to do that lately for fear of it getting stolen.

Default Cheapest fix

replace the factory alarm with a best buy alarm for like $100 - $150 with all the modules. they will then be forced to fix the issue if the alarm goes off randomly... thats what i did with my 96 was a quick fix.
