Default throwing codes and confused

So i had my plugs, wires, distributor, intake and hose from intake to top of motor replaced yesterday. Well, check engine light popped on today and so i hooked up my obdII reader and got the P0101 code for MAF sensor, then P0175 and P0172 which is both bank 1 and 2 running rich. could my spark plugs be gapped too much or something? I'm just curious as to what to do

P0101 indicates a problem with the Mass Air Flow sensor or its circuit, which can cause the other DTC's to set. Follow the flow chart for P0101: https://blazerforum.com/forum/diagno...plained-31561/

I understand the p0101. i've had it before. cleaned my maf and it went away for over a year. then i had my tune up done and its throwing the code again plus the right and left bank are running rich now. you can smell the gas in my exhaust too. Its running rich. I'm wondering if the spark plugs could possibly be gapped wrong and causing me to run rich.

When diagnosing & repairing DTC's, you need to start with the first one, (ignore the rest). After you follow the flow chart and repair the problem, clear the memory, perform a drive cycle to verify the repair. If the SES light comes back on, repeat the process. The reason for this is because the first DTC in memory can cause other DTC's to set. In your case, the MAF sensor plays a big part in determining fuel mixture, (injector pulse width). If MAF data to the PCM is incorrect, the PCM will adjust fuel mixture incorrectly, either too lean, or in your case, too rich.

Well, i replaced the MAF on saturday night. i thought i said that, my apologies. the P0101 code is gone and hasn't come back but the rich codes are still there. so, i'm taking it back to the shop and having them check it all out with me there.

On your tune up, did you use AC Delco parts or aftermarket stuff? The 4.3L is real fussy on secondary ignition parts, (cap, rotor, plugs & wires). Just trying to save you an expensive trip to the shop

Yeah, i was very specific on it and the shop owner is my neighbor/family friend who has always told the truth because we give him so much business lol. They only use oem parts at the shop also so thats not it. they're going to take a look at it wednesday on my day off from work so hopefully its something small but who knows. only getting 40 miles to a quarter tank is an obvious sign of a problem when i usually get between 60-70 miles. same gas station, same driving style, same everything except the codes.

thanks for the help, i'm just frustrated is all

I hope you have better luck than I did, mine did the same thing after the dizzy replacement, threw code p0101, replaced MAF, same problem, returned MAF for another one, same problem.
Running rich, could smell the raw gas coming from the tail pipe and no power, turned out my cat was clogged.

Shop said that when my dizzy was going bad it toasted the converter.

I have had the cat replaced, The P0101 code hasn't come back in the last 4 days. Still running rich though.

I am taking it back tomorrow. Mom's envoy blew out a trans cooler line and a power steering line, she then drove home 120 miles with it spewing fluids all over. So, had to get that towed to the shop.

So, its a great week in my house. Very expensive week really
