Transmission Overfill causing issues?
Mid Feb I took my blazer into BigO for maintenance and check up. (Tax return) one of the things I had them do was check the tranny. When all was done everything checked out fine. On April 2nd while driving there was a sudden jolt/drop feeling like it just had the hardest time shifting from 1st-2nd. I started listening and heard a whirling noise as I speed up (sounded like and old time police siren) also heard it while idle. There was no smell no visual problems just shifting rough from 1st-2nd and the whirling sound. Upon stopping I checked the tranny fluid and man is it over filled, plus after I checked that and oil the tranny wouldn't engage Reverse? Oil lvl was fine and colored fine, and tranny fluid was light and smelled fine just overfull. Can being overfull cause these symptoms? Cause it not to engage reverse? I didn't drive it much more and only 30 MPH after this all started for fear of damage. If I drain some fluid is there a good chance of being fine or does it sound like I'm screwed and either the torque converter or tranny or both are shot?

when you check the trans fluid, was the vehicle on level ground? Did you let it sit and idle for 5 minutes before checking? Otherwise you will get a false reading.
Overfilling will cause the trans fluid to foam and yes I think this could cause engagement problems.
Only way I know of to remove a little bit of fluid is to siphon it out through the dip stick tube as there is no drain plug on the trans pan unless an aftermarket one has been installed.
With the trans cold, siphon out half a quart and see if there is any difference and then recheck level.

that is a lot of miles to get out of the original transmission. You could try what I did with my k1500. Got the trans flushed and added a secondary cooler for about $40. I got me another year out of the trans before it completely died.
