Default what is this gasket called?

Hey everyone I just got a quick question, what is the name of the gasket which goes between the transmission and the transfer case on a 4L60E transmission. Like on the tail end of the tranny?

It's name is RTV! If you really want the gasket, the dealer is likely going to be the only place that admits one exists and they might have to order it in.

yup there shouldnt be any fluid it there so you can use rtv or make your own gasket from gasket material from the parts store. if you do have fluid in there than one of the seals are blown and need to be replaced.

Transmission fluid is entering/exiting that area during normal operation. The output shaft of the transmission does not have a seal on it before it enters into that area. The transfer case input seal keeps transmission fluid from mixing with transfer case fluid.

I think this might be it. Second one

It's common to use RTV in this situation

I have no problem getting this gasket from a transmission supply house. I'm in Atlanta area so I get transmission parts from Transmission Parts Unlimited or TransStar ( Transtar Industries, Inc. - Transmission Parts - Catalogs ). You can download a full catalog in PDF format.
