Default What size bolt on the cooling fan on a 03 Blzr?

I am preparing for a water pump removal and replacement on a 4WS 2003 Blazer 2 door. I am wanting to know what the size of the large center nut is on the cooling fan. I know I can rent one from AZ or O'Reiley's. The largest open end wrench I have is 32 mm and it is too small. I have done a search. watched every Youtube vid and have yet to see what the size it is. I wanted to get one a HFT if not too expensive. The vid's say use a rental from AZ or use a large 15" Cresent wrench. One guy tried to get a monkey wrench on it, but it was too wide to fit in the small space. Thanks for the help. Jim

Wow! 36 mm is a big wrench. I am going to make the trip to HFT soon and hope to get a good deal on a open end wrench in 36 mm. If not , Plan B is to rent it from AZ. Thanks, Jim

The rental tool kit wrenches are stamped, and they are JUNK! Amazon has 36mm combination wrenches for under $20. Not 100% certain, but I think 1 7/16" will fit.

You are correct Captain Hook. 1 7/16 is correct standard size. It will be just a hair over sized but will work in wrench form.

I don't like the idea of a Cresent or adjustable wrench, but many of the video's on Youtube show them using a 15" Cresent wrench for this job. The caution they use is the thickness of the adjustable wrenches are too thick for some of these adj. wrenches to fit in the tight space.

I use an air chisel with a long punch bit and hit on the edge of nut to turn off. Hope this helps

Since you know all the answers already..Go ahead either rent the tool or just buy one.You know you will eventually need the tool again.
