hi... new to forum and looked for a thread on fuel pumps and cant find it anywhere. basically, wanted to know if swaping the fuel pump on a 2001 s-10 blazer is all that difficult. i know its in the tank, and thats about it. do i need special gm tools for the lines and how bad is it to drop the tank? do i need to relieve pressure anywhere? i've done many repairs to cars in my life but never an internal fuel pump. so if anyone has any helpful hits PLEASE let me know. Thank you!

 

i cant find the post but i read that there are 2 straps and a bolt holding the tank up. it will be a lot easier if the tank is almost empty when you take it down. i believe all you have to do is take off the straps and bolt and it will drop. but be EXTREMELY careful of the lines so you dont break any. i would call your local dealer or pick up a service manual to be 100% sure of what youhave to do.

 

all you need is a 17 mm wrench and socket.and a floor jack. watch your lines i had to cut mine and put fuel pressure lines on it. and watch your gauge mine doesnt read how much fuel i have
