Just curious if anyone has taken it upon themselves to make a 4.3L Turbo motor out of their current S10/Blazer/Jimmy, making a 'modern-day' Syclone or Typhoon. Just looking for a good article on this and if anyone has had any success and made some good numbers with it. I'd imagine even the current 4.3 can spool a turbo pretty quick so I'm kinda suprised I don't see more info on the subject. I'm not talking about a rear-mounted turbo application either. Post info if you got it!

Here's the thread you'll want to have a read through:

Ahhhh, then yes, it's definitely been done, lol, though, I think 02vortec is the only one on this site who's done it...

The only thing is, the Syclone and Typhoon had all wheel drive if im not mistaken.

They were pushing 250 hp without the turbos. With the turbos, im sure they were over 300hp.They would take Corvettes on the 1/8mi.

Yep, they were AWD. BorgWarner t-case. And they had 280 HP and 360ft/lbs of torque...

And an engine built specifically to run on boost, will be gutless without the boost... For massive boost levels you need low compression pistons, which translates to less naturally aspirated power.

It had the same engine setup as the old Buick Regal GNs didn't it.

The old Grand Nationals had a 3.8L v6, but yeah.

Yeah, the Buicks had a different engine than the SyTy's...

The SyTy's had the 4.3.
