Hey Zero is that a Ranger?
i was hoping some one else would know. i know its a mountaineer front end, but the rest im not sure of. i don't think its a ranger though. the wheel wells are too round.

Ya, I drooled over that thing when I saw it...too bad we all don't have the money to do stuff like that to our trucks.
Did you go to the webpage and read the article about it?
blazin97 09-22-2005, 05:17 PM yah I think its a Ranger, I know it has the front end of the Mountaineer, doors are welded closed, and no front window.
blazin97 09-22-2005, 06:17 PM here is one with sparks.

j/k
Those are some great pics of some wicked blazers. Makes me wish I had of bought an old blazer off of the army depot that is now defunct just south of my parents place. They were selling them off cheap and they were all 3/4 ton 2 door blazers from the mid 70's. Freakin' tanks and all of them were rust free and painted up for war!
m00nwater 09-29-2005, 03:48 PM Ya, these guys can't keep up with my picture finding I guess...
That would have been sweet...You would certainly turn heads in a camo Blazer...it would have been a perfect wheeler.
I just took a pic of this hilarious Jimmy in my neighbourhood..when I download it I'll post it here. It's one of those GMC-Blazer hybrids we saw in the New Member section...
swartlkk 09-29-2005, 04:04 PM I've been toying with removing all of the badges on the outside of my Bravada. Keep everyone guessing as to what it is... Many people call it a blazer anyhow so what's the difference. Just have to figure out what to do with my front grill seeing as how the emblem is recessed into the grill... I'd love to get it repainted anyhow due to rock chips.
Check this out:
Coleman's Military Surplus - Military Chevy Blazer (http://www.galleria-e.com/cgi-bin/Colemans.storefront/en/product/217401)
1983 to 1988, low mileage, good condition, 6.2 diesel, automatic, power steering, power brakes.
m00nwater 09-29-2005, 04:43 PM That's sweet...I'd totally drive that. I bet they are in mint condition, too.
swartlkk 09-29-2005, 05:50 PM All of the ones that were sold at auction when the depot went under near my parents were excelent shape. Just one word of caution. If you ever get one, DO NOT breathe the air if you sand it or sand blast it. I guess there is some really nasty sh!t that they used for rust prevention back then and it can do a number on you!
blazin97 09-29-2005, 09:03 PM swartlkk you think its bad that they call your Bravada a Blazer. Some of my coworkers called my Blazer a Jeep. how in the hell does a Blazer look like a Jeep.
Hanr3 09-30-2005, 01:47 AM To the unkowning a Jeep is a generic term for off-road capable truck. Like Kleenex is for Facial Tissue. How many people do you hear ask for facial tissue? They ask for Kleenex. Same difference.
But how rude.:D
Back on subject.
Here is a S10-Blazer with 2 1/2 ton military axles and either 48" or 52" tires. I don't remember which at the moment. He is running the stock 4.3L engine, tranny, and t-case. Not bad for a little S10 now is it?

local://upfiles/959/82A291021D894C918B4217F4E46A14A2.jpg
m00nwater 09-30-2005, 01:14 PM WTF?! That military axle one almost looks fake, to my little graphic designer Photoshop eye...I don't know...there's something strange about that photo...but if it's real...WOW!
swartlkk 09-30-2005, 02:13 PM Looks real enough to me...
m00nwater 09-30-2005, 03:35 PM well, I do this sort of thing for a living, and it looks a little bit worked on. The average Joe might not see it, but I can see there are bits of blurriness in places that don't look right. It's easy enough to do it you have the right programs and know what you're doing.
It looks very real to me still, I just get suspicious since I know what my own abilities are with Photoshop and how easy it is to doctor stuff. Is this a friend's Hanr3? Or something you found on a site? Either way, who cares...it's still a wicked Pic of the Day, and that's the whole point of this thread, not to determine validity of images.
Hanr3 10-03-2005, 12:58 PM I'll let you decide for yourself if it is fake or not. [8D]

I never would have thought that possible and it actually be functional. Like I said...wow...and I stand corrected.[sm=laughat.gif]
Hanr3 10-03-2005, 11:03 PM Not out to prove you wrong.
Did you follow the link?
These guys build some serious toys. Most of em are into the rock crawling competitions, Tough Truck Challenge, and a few others that you read about in the 4x4 mags. They wheel em hard.
What would you think if I told you his rear axle is held in place with a trailer hitch? Follow the link and see for your self.
m00nwater 10-03-2005, 11:15 PM Ya, I checked it out...that's insane! I didn't think you were trying to prove me wrong...no worries. I just looked at it and wasn't sure I could believe what I was seeing...
m00nwater 10-03-2005, 11:20 PM OK...this one you have to go to the website (http://www.rodster.com/buildup.htm) to see the pic...there's more to the story than a Blazer...
timetoblaze 10-04-2005, 01:42 AM thats pretty sweet
Hanr3 10-04-2005, 11:10 AM I like how he chopped the top off. I might be doing something very similar once the '87 becomes a trailer queen.

blazin97 10-24-2005, 08:52 PM drkmelvin are you sure its an s10. It looks like it has stake pockets and s10's dont have stake pockets.
blazin97 10-24-2005, 08:54 PM And I want to build one of these someday.

drkmelvin 10-26-2005, 02:26 AM smartcar...stupidengineer
m00nwater 10-26-2005, 12:40 PM I've seen a few of those on the 401 around here. All I have to say is "no thanks". I'd rather have my truck on a major highway, not something like that. Maybe if you were just using it around the city or something...
drkmelvin 10-26-2005, 05:37 PM I'll agree with you on the city, moon... good for finding parking
timetoblaze 10-26-2005, 06:54 PM haha parking would no prob you could prolly park that in on the side walk by the bike rack and chain it up so no one picks it up and walks away with it lol
drkmelvin 10-26-2005, 09:11 PM Might fit in the briefcase
Talusgirl 10-27-2005, 12:28 AM Remember the "Fiero"? Senior year we took someone's and leaned it upright against the gymnasium wall...what a dumb car.
Can't stand small sh*tboxes. I spent 4- 1/2 months in the hospital after a friend drove a 1975 Mazda (and me) into a pillar. Now if it would have been a Blazer...Well let's just say I feel very safe in my truck now.
m00nwater 10-27-2005, 12:30 PM When I was growing up, we had one of these, hay seats and all. Of course, mine wasn't as pimpin' as this one! LMAO

drkmelvin 10-27-2005, 12:49 PM Hay seats... I will leave that one alone. I used to work with a kid that owned one of those... he pissed us off so bad one day, we lined his interior with plastic and filled it with self-expanding blow foam through the sunroof... he was chipping it out for hours

blazin97 11-05-2005, 11:40 PM yah thats what I was wondering. I found all the pics on suicidedoors.com under bolt on body drop.
Which brings up my next ? Anyone ever heard of a BOLT ON body drop? Its only $10,000 from them.
drkmelvin 11-06-2005, 03:23 AM I must say... that is a little too low for my taste... where is the driveability on them?
Talusgirl 11-07-2005, 12:41 AM Don't think it's meant to be sensible. There's no ground clearence, imagine how stressed you'd be driving on a bad road!
drkmelvin 11-07-2005, 02:21 AM Ouch

Which brings up my next ? Anyone ever heard of a BOLT ON body drop? Its only $10,000 from them.
its got to be a joke. theres no way you can bolt on a body drop. you have to either cut out the floor, raise it, and weld it up. or fabricate a frame so the body will sit lower. it cant be true. did you read the required tools part? that was pretty funny... NEW FROM KRIS DYE FABRICATIONS IS THE BOLT ON BODY DROP KIT. NOW YOU CAN LAY ROCKER OR DOOR WITH THE SIMPLE INSTALLATION OF THIS HEAVY DUTY BRACKET KIT. INSTALLATION IS FAST!! MOST PEOPLE CAN DO IT IN THEIR DRIVEWAY IN LESS THAN 30 MINUTES. TOOLS REQUIRED: FLATHEAD SCREWDRIVER, RUBBER MALLET, BUTTER
KNIFE, 10MM OPEN END BOX WRENCH, CENTER PUNCH, SALAD TONGS, 12 PACK OF BEER, AND 1 PLAYBOY MAGAZINE FROM APRIL 2004. TRUST US! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED IN THE QUALITY OF THIS KIT.[sm=alcoholic.gif][sm=icon_rofl.gif][sm=roll.gif][sm=smiley32.gif]

Just a couple of pics doing donuts in the local grade school parking lot. Teaching the yougnest to drive in the snow was the alibi.

m00nwater 12-30-2005, 01:04 PM Ya, all our snow is gone now as well. We had some much right before Christmas, then it rained all week and that was the end of our snow :(

m00nwater 01-05-2006, 07:53 PM Ya, I was wanting a K5 just for that, but I still have the gf's jeep that we can do that with, so I guess it's best of both worlds.
Poor, lonely Bravada. My Blazer is up on a hoist right now with the mechanics puzzled about what's bent...but that's a story for another thread.
swartlkk 01-05-2006, 09:35 PM I'll have to try to get some pics tomorrow with some nice ICE covering my Bravada. Should be fun. I think I'll be leaving my B'ville in the garage!
LoLoS10Blazer87 01-08-2006, 02:41 AM You guys are lucky, it was 60 degrees here on Christmas. I don't think it's dropped below 50 during daylight. How about a pic of my tranny?
Come on!!! We want to see guts!
Hanr3 01-09-2006, 03:59 PM Give me time. the parts were ordered today and should be here tomorrow. Quick way to spend $350. Maybe I should start a rebuild thread? What do ya think?
m00nwater 01-09-2006, 07:32 PM Sounds good to me...we should have a section for builds...Patrick?[sm=goodidea.gif]
swartlkk 01-09-2006, 07:46 PM I really think we need a 'How-To' section. Member submitted walk throughs on jobs that are commonly done. I have already asked that one be done for the heater core replacement. The transmission, although it would be really cool to have the pictures and such, would be a no-no for the average DIY'er. I'd try to tackle it, but I've been inside a tranny before (th350)... But I wouldn't be expecting the greatest results either being the first time in an auto-4.
Hanr3 01-10-2006, 12:59 AM I am a die hard do it yourselfer. The first tranny I rebuilt was a 700R4 2 summers ago. I had to have a tranny pro help me rebuild it the 2nd time. :D
Same guy is going to help me rebuild this tranny. Actually, I hope to do all the work, and have him oversee it.
Rebuild thread it is then.
Hanr3 01-17-2006, 04:17 PM Rebuild thread has been started.

blazin97 01-20-2006, 05:15 PM that blazer is only KINDA high. Love it though and the jeeps ok too.
Canadian88 01-20-2006, 07:56 PM Those are so cool. I wonder what kind of torque it takes to turn those meats. I agree, a DIY section would answer a lot of questions commonly asked in the general tech help section of the forums. It would probably save Swartlkk's fingers a lot of undue stress as well. I've seen his MAF sensor write up like three times in the last month. It got better every time.
Canadian88 01-21-2006, 11:36 PM Check this pic of the day out.

m00nwater 02-02-2006, 12:28 AM Well, to get some votes for ROTM, you need lots of good pics (or in my case, win because there aren't a lot of other members yet :D). I only wanted to help out the guy I nominated ;)
4lowlife 02-02-2006, 12:31 AM I'll get it out of the barn tomorrow and get some sexy poses of Blazer.

m00nwater 02-08-2006, 09:40 AM That thing is sweet.
blazin97 02-08-2006, 10:18 PM aint it though. I first saw it in the new mini truckin.
m00nwater 02-09-2006, 09:55 AM Ya, I can appreciate that kind of thing. Now that I'm "married" into a car family, I get to go to shows and see some sweet things. Performance World in Toronto is organized by my gf's dad, so we go every year to that.
m00nwater 02-28-2006, 03:13 PM Ok, so it's been a while since I've found a good pic. In honour of 4lowlife...here's my Blazer pic of the day:

m00nwater 02-28-2006, 04:47 PM ****, that thing's wicked.
I'd like to see it lit up on a track with tires like that. Serious rubber burning....[sm=badbadbad.gif]
blazin97 02-28-2006, 05:06 PM yah right. my brother emaild it to me. it had no motor, tranny, or anything. It didnt sell, last bid was $4000
swartlkk 02-28-2006, 05:14 PM WOW!!
That looks like fun. Gotta get those meats covered up and the interior sealed up to keep the copious amounts of tire smoke out of your eyes!!!

m00nwater 03-01-2006, 09:26 AM I've been trying to find stuff by Johnny Lightning or ANYTHING in stores, but I only ever find Trailblazers. There are a bunch on eBay. Matchbox seems to have made quite a few. Here's what I found here (http://search.ebay.ca/search/search.dll?sofocus=pf&sbrftog=1&from=R10&satitle=blazer&sacat=19036%26catref%3DC6&bs=Search&fsop=1%26fsoo%3D1&coaction=compare&copagenum=1&coentrypage=search&fgtp=&a39=-24&a6=-24&a56=-24&a25260=-24&gcs=1380&pfid=1863&reqtype=1&pfmode=1&alist=a39%2Ca6%2Ca25262%2Ca56%2Ca25260%2Ca3801&pf_query=blazer&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D3&sadis=200&fpos=ZIP%2FPostal&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=)
Jeeps, on the other hand, we have a million of those at home...I should take a pic of what we've got at home...it's quite a collection!

m00nwater 03-16-2006, 05:03 PM Ya, I've seen that one before. I hate Hummers, so it doesn't surprise me that it folded like that. I hope the people were OK, but maybe next time they'll buy a Volvo for safety :D
Paddle_grl 03-16-2006, 05:10 PM all in favor of vehicles actualy made of steel....raise your hands!![sm=hiya.gif]
