I have been thinking about lifting my 2005 blazer ZR2. Not looking to spend a ton of money. Was thinking about doing a 2 inch body lift and leaving the stock wheels. i haven't been able to find a kit for the 2005 -- all of them only cover up to the 2003 or something. was wondering what anyone knew about lifting one of the newer models. also wondering what size tires i could expect to fit with that and if it would be a reasonable project to try to take on myself. pics of someone who's done it would be awesome.

You want performance accessories kit # 152. It'll fit your '05, even though it doesn't say so.

The stock size of those wheels are the same as any other 4wd Blazer, 15X7 with 6" backspace.

BDS also makes a 2" BL and most that buy the PA BL use the BDS instructions. You can do the job yourself if you can turn a wrench and follow instructions with a basic set of tools, but air tools makes things much easier and quicker. You will also need a jack, preferable floor jack, that has a pretty high lift. Otherwise, you will have a heck of a time lifting the body.

Plan on a full day to do the job with a friend or two helping out. Some have done it by themselves so you can do it by yourself. Just take your time, follow the instructions and don't get in a hurry.

You "should" be able to run 33X10.5 with very minor trimming or 33X12.5 with a bit more trimming, depending on what rims you are going to run.
