Hey guys,

I just got some new shackles to lift the back of my blaze up 2". the install instructions i got with them suck. I wonder if someone could guide me through the process. I know there are only the two bolts that hold them in. I assume you must get the load off of the leaf springs. How do I go about doing that?? Help is greatly appreciated.

Holla to my homie in the east!

Jack up the rear of the vehicle off the groundand put jack stands under it. Use your jack to jack up the differential slightly to take pressure off the shackles. One side at a time, Take the bolts out of the shackles and lower the jack to lower the axle. Take off the shacle and replace it with your lift shackle. Bolt it back up and torque the bolts to 120 lbs. Repeat the process on the other side.

well i got my shackles on the blazer and got the torsion bars cranked. Its looking pretty good. Now im just waiting on my 31x10.50 firestone destination m/t's to arrive. I was gonna go with bridgestone dueler m/t's but apparently they have discontinued that tire and they are hard to get a hold of.

My shackles did the lift back of my blaze up a bit but I wanna go a little higher. So my question is
What now??

I know add-a-leafs are an option. I was curious if lift blocks would work on the back of these blazers? Any other options?? I am lookin to get somewhere between 1-2 more inches.

Don't go with add a leafs... they ride like beasts.
If your axle is on top of the leaf springs, you can buy the bolt kit from autozone to put it under the axle. That will get you in the ballpark range of 1.5-2"
If its under the leafs, you can block it. That pretty much straitforward when you look at the directions.

Depending on how much you paid for the shackles, you can go with a longer shackle.

wait a sec i got ahead of my self. Blocks would actually lower the rear of my blazer since the axle is above the springs. Wouldnt I have to do an spring over axle conversion for them to work?? Or did you mean some other kit from auto zone that will lift the back up.

Yea blocks will for sure lower these trucks. A SOA will probably raise it up over 3"s. I had my springs re-arched, and air shocks.

You can buy the bolt kit to relocates the axle to below the springs. It will work in much the same way as it connects to the leafs now but everything will be inverted.
