I believe all you would have to do is sand the chrome portions to make it paintable. Then lay down some primer, wetsand, primer, wetsand, base coat, wetsand, base coat, wetsand, clearcoat (s). I am not sure what you do after the clear coat. But I am sure someone else on here knows a little more about it than I do. mdehoogh 12-09-2007, 11:29 PM i think you can take off the chrome part... IIRC, psychropod removed his chrome grille. felonyblazer96 12-09-2007, 11:32 PM cause i want to paint it black and put metallic green grille inserts in it [/align] mdehoogh 12-09-2007, 11:45 PM these pics are out of Psychropod's photo gallery before http://www.blazerforum.com/upfiles/6657/asppg_Ls924383593.jpg after http://www.blazerforum.com/upfiles/6657/asppg_Dj625006151.jpg felonyblazer96 12-09-2007, 11:48 PM yea thats what i want.. has he posted the process it takes? I was very thankful that I found it because I couldn't find those screws to remove the grille. When I had the grille off, I was thinking of painting it black, but I think my chrome actually looks good, even if it is losing color in some spots. I should've hit it with a coat of chrome paint. swartlkk 12-10-2007, 07:10 AM I believe that what Psychropod did was just replace the chrome grill with a black grill. They can be purchased in matte black just the way you want it to be. WhiteTie BlackJacket 12-10-2007, 07:51 AM yeah maybe you could get a cheap one at a junkyard?
