Click on My Profile up above.

You will see "CONTROL PANEL" and under it, click My Subscription.

Those are the threads and sections you are subscribed to... you may uncheck the ones you don't want to stop receiving so many emails.

What happens if I am not receiving emails at all for my subscriptions? ... I have posted on some threads and people have responded but I have not received any email notices. Also, it seems like this sticky is outdated or i am blind because I cannot find"My Profile" or "Control Panel" (I only see "User CP") and cannot find "My Subscription" (I found List subscriptions but it doesn't give me options for emails/etc.)

Edit: Never Mind, I found it. If anyone is wondering, it is under "Edit Options" in the "User CP"

Yes, this announcement was made back when they ran the forum on different software than what it currently is. Menu's and layouts were all different than what they are now.
