oh thats alright, i think it didnt work too well on the first pic because the front of the truck was darker than the rear... shadows can cause problems.
i was trying to make it "cartoon-ized" like in my sig

Cool... Just add a little bit of "soften portrait" and a little more definition on the oil painting....

I've been messing around with filters on some images as well. All of the images that I have of the Rainier so far are too dark to really work well in most of the filters.

Is Paint.NET easier to work with than CS3? Just wondering what photoshop to go with when my CS3 trail ends.

Not as good as CS3, but its free. The biggest features it has is layering, lasso select/deselect, effects, adjustments, and hexidecimal color select. I like the save feature. You can save the image as a .pdn, .bmp, .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, .jpe, .jfif, .png, .tif, .tiff, .tga, or .dds. You can also adjust the file size and quality of the image when you save, which is very helpful when making avatars.

You're welcome. I'm still looking for a way to make animated .gifs....

You guys should check out GIMP, I don't use it, but alot of people I work with say its a very good program. It allows you to do some GIF animations, and is like Photoshop, but free. I however like the Adobe Suites, they are worth the money.
