looking at the classifieds here i cam accross this
its a 96 Vortec v6 claiming 375 horse.
clicky (http://www.ksl.com/?nid=218&ad=3137837&cat=103&lpid=26)

am wondering how ligit you guys think those numbers are. seems high for pistons roller rockers, crank and headers to me but i dont know alot about that ish.

isnt there a trick to quoting engine output to rwhp or bhp?

Either way, I feel like if it really was pumping out 375 hp, it would be more than $1250...

I was also thinking that kinda weak for spending $5000 on the motor.

you think $5k would buy you a new set of pulleys. i can see 375 hp with head work and a bigger cam. id ask why he needed to buy a new crank. you can turn them down just as easy.

yeah they have all kinds of calculators out there that will equate pretty much anythign you want. the old saying is in a automatic tranny (2wd) RWD you will lose 10% hp from the crank to the rear tires. i heared its 15% with a stick. why buy a engine not knowing its history when you can build one yourself?

Yea I don't see were the power is coming from, since he didn't get any serious motor work done or changed the cam. Its just eyecandy from what I can see since its painted people will think that it pumps out that much power!!
