Well for starters... I stay up way to late... I have moments of inspiration, ROFL!

So anyways I got this hairbrainedidea as I was staring at my pen basket on my desk... Sharpies!

So here I am making it uber simple for anyone else who hasnt allready thought this up, and is anoyed with their DIC being the only not blue led thing left in there truck.

Needed:

2ltr Soda bottle or equall source of clear plastic sheet
Sharpie marker, blue or purple work well
double stick tape

The Build:

Cut out a chunk of plastic roughly the size of the inside of the DIC screen

Choose your sharpie color, but you must understand that the plastic cover piece is tinted greenish blue like the lights so only darker blues and purple will filter correctly. if you use red for instance it wont change the color barely at all if at all.

Now that you have your sharpie chosen. draw lines on one side of the plastic going horizontal, and lines going vertical on the other. This makes it seem more uniform.

Pop out the plastic cover from the console.

Use the double stick tape to securely fasted the platic piece to the inside of the lens.

Reassemple.

Volla! BLUE LED look! Hope it helps!

There is a small slit on the underside in the center, you use a small screwdriver to "pop" it out.

What's a sharpie? Permanent colour pen? Won't the ink fade? Might try it.

Im not too worried about it fading! haha, Its not like its superhard to do, plus you could proly put some clear tabe over the ink if you wanted.

I expect everyone here to have a Blue DIC by the end of the week! lol

Why not get Clear blueplastic sheet? Must be able to get from a hobby or arts & Craft shop. I'll look around. I still like the idea. May also work for the milage counter & gear selection indicator.
