Biohazed 03-14-2009, 09:26 PM Nice you did primer it first right? I learned this the hard way from doing my grill.
Sand, primer, sand, paint, sand, paint, sand, clear coat. sand, clear coat
let dry for 24 hours and install .. other wise it will chip and look horrible in a while.
Cavalier z24 03-14-2009, 09:29 PM yeah i just forgot to take a picture :)

I've learned this too. I painted my chrome strip across themiddle of the grille, the chrome part of the bumper, and the stone guards on my lights black and didn't clear coat them enough and now the look like cookies and creme ice cream. Gunna try again, this time taking my time.
That grille looks like it will be nasty on your blaze, I think it'll look awesome with a billet bowtie.
Biohazed 03-14-2009, 10:24 PM ok cool just had to check the first time i painted my grill on my 97 actually i did the quick and easy one coat and it lasted about a month before i had big chunks of chrome showing through It was only after i talked to a buddy about it he told me the method and i've never had a problem since lol
kiwiblazer 03-14-2009, 10:42 PM I also painted the chrome strip on my grille. Still looks good.

Cavalier z24 03-15-2009, 12:13 AM .....:)
P.S. Outsydr How is the painting coming along?
will be doing the front bumper tomorrow
.......sorry for double post was not thinking
Outsydr 03-15-2009, 10:03 AM Rather than derail this thread to answer that check my build thread i'll update progress there.
Cavalier z24 03-15-2009, 02:13 PM Ok...
Cavalier z24 03-15-2009, 10:48 PM i ran into a bit off trouble with my freaking bumper the 4 bolts that holds it on in the front will not come off the flat roundish bolt part in the front spins with the nut and i can not grip it with anything so i am going to have to use my buddy's drill tomorrow to drill them out and just replace them with new ones.

Also off topic i found a leak in my radiator the plastic is cracked on the drivers side of the rad so a few minutes ago i bought a new radiator on eBay with oil cooler for 121.00
Outsydr 03-15-2009, 10:51 PM little trick for those bumper bolts (I had the same issue) put a piece of 2x4 across em and lean hard into it with your knees to keep pressure on the heads while you loosen the nut worked perfect for me.

Cavalier z24 03-23-2009, 10:24 AM Thank you, I been thinking on taking on the big job of painting the whole truck black but debating on if i should attempt it or not. maybe two tone color it below the trim i would like to have rhino lined and between the trim and top line in the truck near the door handles would be gun metal silver and the rest up black
andrew_as 03-23-2009, 10:27 AM lol that would be to big of a project for me! Im actually a painter. I paint anything that dont move, like houses and crap. I would never try a car. Totally differnt job
Cavalier z24 03-23-2009, 10:46 AM lol yeah that what i use to do for a living paint house's apartments office spaces and i also finish drywall
Ugly_Monkey 04-05-2009, 03:17 AM i will be posting a DIY on interior painting and its the same steps as the grill
