View Full Version : how do u replace sunroof seal??? multitrack24 10-04-2009, 02:13 PM does anyone know how hard it is to replace the sunroof seal for a 2004 Chevy Blazer ZR2. 2 door. Thanks multitrack24@hotmail.com swartlkk 10-04-2009, 03:16 PM The first trick would be finding a new seal. The glass just unbolts. There are four bolts holding the glass in one at each corner pointing from the inside area of the glass towards the sides of the truck. What is going on that makes you think you need a new seal? multitrack24 10-04-2009, 03:40 PM I finally saw a few drips of water getting thru while it was raining. I hope a new weather seal will work. Thank you very much for the reply, please let me know if you have any other tips. Thanks, Matt swartlkk 10-04-2009, 04:00 PM There is a drip rail around the outer portion of the roof. Any water that gets past the glass is supposed to drip into this area. There are 4 drains, one at each corner. If you are getting water into the truck, your drains are likely clogged and it may not be caused by a bad seal. multitrack24 10-04-2009, 04:38 PM I can see the two toward the front but am unable to locate the two rears. Is there any way to find them and unclog? swartlkk 10-04-2009, 05:56 PM You may have to put the sunroof in the vent position to access the rear screws. As far as the drains go, the front drains can be accessed when the sunroof is all the way open. I cannot remember if the rear drains can be seen when the roof is open, in vent, or only when the glass is removed. Before you remove the screws, you may want to scribe their location. The glass is adjustable up and down for proper alignment with the roof. Too high and it will bind. Too low and more water may leak past than intended. |
