Kellen 07-25-2006, 11:47 PM I'm only on stock tires, so I don't go too hardcore, but I do like to hit the mud

hillbillyinOhio 07-26-2006, 09:44 AM looks great. Last time I took my blazer out and got it dirty, couldn't even see blazer logo, hell, there was an inch of mud on the roof!!
Paddle_grl 07-26-2006, 04:22 PM wow....where have I been.....missed this whole post!!! looks good on the mud! welcome!!

Welcome to the site. looks like u got a warm welcome already :D
prototype80 07-27-2006, 01:03 AM blazers are meant for offroading, unless they are the 2wd models and then they are built to make bad ass show cars....jmho
Hanr3 07-27-2006, 01:52 AM Great start on your 4 wheeling adventures.
Welcome to the site.
BlaZeR FXB1581 07-27-2006, 02:43 AM blazers are pretty capable off the beaten trail
i have the new SUVs that are just grocery getters
they are never put in 4WD mode
disgrace to the SUV name
Paddle_grl 07-28-2006, 01:00 AM yeah just like to soccer mom's driving hummers....a little silly if you ask me...but then our society has gone to the more disposable pavement cars....they have lost their fascination with the big block...realy cars...made of metal even!!! ah well.....some day when every one else has flying cars...I'll some good old detroit steel hanging in my back yard....
mtncrsr 07-28-2006, 04:55 AM looks great, but charging into the unknown is bad it makes things go pop in the night. i've done a lot of wheeling alone and things can turn out bat in a heart beat if you are not cautious.so if you go alone drive on the cautious side of the road and have fun. but there is safety in numbers. have fun
Cow Killer 07-29-2006, 09:16 AM thats not mud. thats just from a dirt road.
now this was mud. (http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/angeredchild69/detail?.dir=44ef&.dnm=c63fre2.jpg&.src=ph)
Paddle_grl 07-30-2006, 01:30 AM wow looks like you had some nice mud there cow killer.......but in my book any mud is good mud....not all of us have the places to go and play....some of us try and find places to get off the pavement and get dirty........anyone who takes it off road deserves some respect...or at least some acknowledgment of it.....that.....and you actualy made mods to your truck to help you tackle the big stuff....when you have a stock truck..and it's the only vehicle you have...you tend to find fun in a not so variable environment....in the end it's all about getting dirty!

Slinging mud on teh outside is nice, however driving through frame deep mud is a different story.
Then there are mud holes that are deep. Really deep.

Hanr3 07-31-2006, 03:39 AM Amazing how well those door gaskets work. This truck didn't have a drop of mud inside.
Notice the mud line running front to back on teh doors? You could say it was deep on this side.
Slinging it on the outside is nice. But driving through it is a diferent story. :D

Bst mod you can make to your truck if your gonna take it wheeling is tires. Then recovery gear. Cuase you will get stuck.

ceanern 07-31-2006, 03:28 PM Not sure if my pics are working or not. let me know if they are if you could.

nice pic!
Yeah I am currently looking at getting a used set of either 31/10.5/15 BFG all terrains or michelin ltx all terrain. Would those be good for some moderate mudding or would i need to run full on mud terrains? (what are you running in the pic there?)
Hanr3 08-02-2006, 01:30 AM That truck has the BFG All-Terrains in 30" size.
The '87 used to have Michelins XLT in LT235/75R15 size. They did ok in comparision to the BFG's.

cool. I'm currently looking for a used set of the BFG AT. So I guess you can do some pretty heavy duty mudding on those?
ceanern 08-02-2006, 08:36 PM Well atleast some ppl can see em.. Hopefully will have the problem squared away soon
Hanr3 08-02-2006, 10:39 PM I wouldn't say heavy duty, but they should get you through quite a bit of mud. Now watch, the first thing your going to do is bury it up to the frame in mud and wonder why your not moving. :D
ceanern 08-02-2006, 11:46 PM I've done that before with my old pick up. That sucked. Had to walk about 2 miles or more through the mountains to somebodies house to call for help after getting done with practice. Anyone else see those pics now? I think the problem maybe solved. not 100% sure tho. Will hopefully have more over the next few weeks if we get any rain!
