I just have a quick question about neons...how much is reasonable for a full set, and how hard are they to install?

100 bucks at autobarn, best buy, and pepboys for the ones they have....dont know if they are any good......probably should go for a 300 dollar set for really nice looking neons......and as for install ask xblazer01 and jag....both got neons i believe

ah my area!

lol.

Are you just looking for NEON or like LED tubes?

If you go Neon. Straight up. Streetglow Gold Series. VERY BRIGHT!

if you go LED. Shy away from streetglow. They're control box burns up very easily.

For LED go with either of these:
http://www.oznium.com/blaze I had this kit. Minor problems but customer service with phil at oznium is RIDICULOUSLY GREAT!

Or

http://www.oznium.com/inferno Jag has this one. It's basically the one above only alot more features.

Now if you wanna go freakin AAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL the way to the big boys. Here's your freakin Meal Ticket! This is my next little project myself ;)

http://www.oznium.com/ufo mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Neon! :D

As for install it really depends ont he kit. The streetglow one is the easiest. Once you get into the LED's you have to wire up control boxes which is still easy.

Simple install. Easy instructions on everything via Oznium.

Xtucking will give some insight on these also

def. its nice for regular Neon tubes.

watch it tho. Very prone to breaking.

LED's have a stronger casing for some reason

hmm what would you prefer the Gold Series or an LED?

me PERSONALY. LED. its directional. more functions like a sweep, color fading and all that jazz. And your not restricted to a single color in most cases!

Hmmm well i looked at those links you put in above and the first one is pretty sweet i think when i get some money saved up and the time to do it i will buy those. but for on the inside of the car how many neons do you think i should put in it like in the trunk for my system and then should i put a few up front or no?

I was just browsing the MD Code to see what the local laws are. It explains why I never see this cool stuff on the streets here.

I wanted to put red neons under my Blazer, but the law states that no red or blue lights can be visible from the front of the vehicle. I wanted to use a red license plate light on the back, but the law says the light must be white or amber. (I'm still using it. LOL)

Clear corners are legal, and it looks like it is also legal if I put a single red neon or LED under the rear bumper. Anywhere else could result in a ticket.

Have any other Marylanders here used LEDs or neons? Ever got stopped?

Their main concern seems to be preventing people from impersonating cops. Yeah, I know. Seems ridiculous, but that's the reasoning.
