Ok so i got really lucky last feburary when i purchased my 2001 2wd 2 dr blazer. Stock its was running a 16.7 in the quarter which was better then it was supposed to be. Now more mods have been done and its been tuned by Mach Performance for 91 octane. Whos nows what this thing is gonna runn now it was projected by mach to run 14.8-14.9 on a custum 87 octane tune. but now bill knows its a freak and tuned it to 91 on top of that. So im guesin low 14's easy after i get the limit slip in, cause hooking right now is a joke to yokahamas just go up in smoke hahahahha track times will be posted soon. was gonna go today but the tune got postponed till today so now i have to wait a week or two till i can get it out to the track and run it. :D:D;):D:D

umm i have a cia with heat shields and soon to be heat wraped, and moved the sensors around to fool with computer alittle. took out the eyebrow in the intake and polished the whole inside of it, cleaned the intake. trans has custom servos and some other stuff done. different plugs. and the pcm was tuned by mach for 91 octane and he played with the trans settings to get the most out of my servos and line pressure. i also lowered my blazer 5 inches not that that matters but. i beat an 01 gt mustang yesterday with exhaust and cia. and a stock ws6 last week

Now a factory stock GT I can beleive if you are actually running 14.7sec, but I'm still skeptical of your times. A stock GT will run right around your time, but open the exhaust and intake and all bets are off.
Now I'm calling flat out BS on your WS6 story. A bone stock WS6 TA will run mid-to-low 13sec 1/4s all day long! Only thing that may slow one down is if they can't get traction, but he'd have to smoke the launch to loose almost a full second!
You have those slips yet? How about your 1/4 trap speed? 60' time? 1/8th mile time/speed? And actually, now that you stretched things alittle further, I'm pretty much going to have to see a video of you passing the 1/4 in the times you quote to lower my BS flag.

no i havent made it to the track yet still tryin to make down there but my front hub went saturday and that pretty much ruined my chance, so im still waiting to get down there. it wasnt a newer ws6, it didnt have an ls1 yeah right id call bs on myself if i said i beat an ls1. but the gt just had a cat back exhaust and k&n on it and a stupid cocky kid behined the wheel.

I have the same year engine and size blazer and mine ran 16.72 stock it runs an even 16 with the mods I made to it(which is more than a few). So this story sounds like crap to me!

Nope no kidding here. it ran a 16.5 stock and is project to run a low 14 after exhaust(which is not done yet) there fore its running a high 14's because the exhaust is not allowing it to flow freely. i know taking two seconds is crazy with just a few simple mods. But then again ive been building custom cars for years and know how to setup a car. and do u really think im going to tell u everything in exact detail what ive done to it so other people can do the same stuff and be running the same timess hahahhaha YOU MUST BE JOKING. just know a couple things, the basics of motors and what they need AIR, FUEL, SPARK, and how EFFICENTLY those process get done. then going through the drive train to match it. and on a side note MACH PERFORMANCE did the tune enough said.

You still haven't answered ANY of my questions. If you truely know how this truck runs in the 1/4, you would also know what 60' times you run, 1/8 mile speed/time, as well as definitely knowing the mph it traps in the 1/4.

ok buddy as for the college excuse--im calling bull****. I myself am in college and with a very heavy course load---34hours in class plus maybe 1-2hours work each night PLUS I have a part time job (20 hours or so a week) PLUS I have a girlfriend---I still find time to go wheeling with my buddies---a couple runs down the track takes nowhere near the time that hitting a couple trails with the boys will----including a commute!

this was off of a idle launch though- with a launch 13.2 to 13.1 could be possible, what turbo do they run? t3/t4 60-1 P-trim?

my stock GT ran 14.4 with no exhaust...once i bolted on the O/R x-pipe and hollow muffler i was at a 14.1.....so i highly doubt u beat a GT unless the guy seriously didn't know how to drive...and yea i agree with swart on the WS6 story...like he said...mid to low 13 sec. bone stock car...those WS6's are no joke. Im waiting to her...."O i beat a EVO 9 the other day". lol

He didn't say in the e-mail what turbo they run. This guy can't keep his story straight anyway. He said in the first post that he was running a "16.7 which is better than its supposed to be" when clearly as I stated from Car and Driver it is an average 1/4 time. Then a few posts later when he is trying to defend his claim he says he is running 16.5's. So which is it? He trips and falls flat on his face over his own lies. Maybe it is just me, but does it tick you off when people try to be special (because there is nothing else about them that sets them apart) or make unfounded claims to get attention? The WS6 story *hahahahahahaha* he was joking right?! I'm not sure I could even think up a lie like that because I'd be laughing at myself to hard! Beating a GT *hahahaha*? No way. Sorry. I own a 95 GT with 25,000 miles on it. I know what they are capable of (and that's an older model not as finely tuned as the ones from the last few years). Your dreaming on that one buddy. hey i just wanted to come on here and clear things up a little if possible for u guys. Saturday Oct. 7th i will be going to milan to run my blazer for the day. regardless of what it runs i will post it and the video. Even if i dont run what i say (ex. 15.7 in the quarter) doesnt matter if im wrong ill be the first to admit it. but im still sticking to my guns until i know for sure. next question "Were did u come up with 14.7?" well i didnt pull it out of my butt. nonnono thats what i was told by a couple of well known engine builders(KATECH) and ive been racin for many years, from waterford, ssca, milan, motocross. all of it, i was fortunate to be born in to a racing family. it just feels like it could be close i will not be runnin low 14's for a while, i need a couple more things to get it down there but low 15's high 14's is plausable. im not on here to mess with u guys/girls or piss u off. im on here for the same reasons u are. I am a proud owner of a blazer. i guess i should have posted something in the new members section first before comin on here and sayin i run 14's. u guys seem pretty cool and id like to keep it that way. i will post some pics of my blazer later on tonight or something on here. i love my blazer as do im sure the rest of u do ur own blazers.
i cant wait to see what this thing runs and i will share it with u, i have nothing to be embarrassed about. also its not that what i have done is a secret(was messin with ya there) its that fact that i dont know what the previous owner did to this thing, i only know what i did too it. my trans shifts at 5000 and it shifts at the following: 2nd-40m.p.h. 3rd-65/70m.p.h. and 4th at 110/115 m.ph. thats where im lost, i dont know what he did to it. and there is no shift kit cause its a 4l60E, i was thinkin servos but idn it doesnt feel like he just change the servos. cause if that was case this trans would have went months ago the way i drive it. "30m.p.h. roll it revs till 4500/5000 and dumps it HARD into 1st and starts chirpin the tires then hooks and launchs like a bat out of h*LL. alright thats enough for now

yeah i know i just realized that. its just that im highly respect were i come from for the vehicles im building, and i came on here kind of expecting that not realizing that u people have no clue who i am....opps on mybehalf. if u would like to know who i am i will explain further more if any question appear. i come from the streets of metro detroit raised on the underground racing of metro detroit. my current project is a 94 s10 with a syclone motor. we plan on making the fastest s10 in the world. gm is currently running high 7's with there syclone. we are going to try as hard as we can to get this think to beat them. our motor is currently out to katech to be built and by another engine builder in wyoming. then it will come back to be mated with a 3 speed powerglide too a 9inch ford out back. it will boost 30p.s.i. with a (inavative-sp) 82mm turbo. sorry that i dont have all the details on this truck it is a partnership for financial reasons and i havent seen him in a week or so. we have gottin contacted by hotrod on the build of this truck. will try to keep you guys updated if u would like to know.

alright alright went to the track yesterday. the blazer ran AWESOME!! me on the other hand hahaha wow im soooo disappointed in myself. i staged the first light. went to go start locking up the converter and with so much line pressure i rolled thru the brakes not realizing it looked up once i realized i moved. and i already 2nd staged and the light turned green so basically i launched late and from a idle so F-In horrible. then it spunn them thru first then into second then sqwaked them into third my Reaction time was a .656(i cant believe i did that) my 60ft. was 2.2 and with a 1/4 mile et of 15.8 with 84 miles and hour trap speed. i figure after i take all the tools out of it i had in it and spare tires and perfect my launch with the right tires a should be able to take of an easy .5 second to almost a full second. i will be back there next saturday to get more runs in... plus i will have the gforce's mounted on the blazer then so i can actually hook. tell what u think

Now, who goes to the strip and only makes one pass? Even on a packed test/tune night at the 1/4mi track, I'll make atleast 3 passes. On our local 1/8mi track, I'll do more like 6-8 passes.
Why race with additional weight (tools, etc)? That just doesn't make any sense. What tree config did they have for you? Did all 3 amber lights come on at once or did they count down to green?
Also, why load up the TC if you are just going to spin out of the hole? That's kind of like shooting yourself in the foot... If you have enough power to spin them, you don't just mat the throttle and hope it sticks...
And you sleeping at the light will not improve your ET... You RT (reaction time) does not impact your ET (elapsed time). So a horribly slow RT of 0.686sec is just how long it took for you to see the green light, release the brake, and stab the gas. A 2.2sec 60' time isn't a completely bad, but I don't think you'll pick up any more than .3 seconds there. So if the truck ran like it was supposed to after 60', then you can expect to make it down to 15.5sec - 1/4, but I wouldn't expect much lower.

why load up the torque convertor??? to preload the suspension. u dont want total load up but 2000 r.p.m. is plenty. also u want to let of the brake and rapidly ease into the throttle. on the 4.3 this seems to help alot. i have the eyebrow out of my intake, so if i just sab it, it will dog all the way but if i launch this way i have lots of vacumn.
o yeah its a 5/4 drop

I do know why you would load up a TC, that wasn't the point of my question. My point was that you are already spinning the tires. Loading the TC will promote that if you can't control the throttle enough to combat it. By loading everything up, if you apply too much power, you'll lose traction - if there is enough power to do so...

In general, automatic transmissions are known as being more useful for lazy commuters than for hardcore racers. But it may be surprising for some to know that many pro drag-racing cars have heavy-duty auto gearboxes. That's because the brake-torque launch is an automatic specialty. This launch involves keeping the car stationary by flooring the brakes with the left foot, while using the right foot to rev up the engine against the torque converter. In technical terms, this preloads the entire drivetrain with the stress of a launch, allowing the engine to rev closer to its power and torque peaks at the starting line. Brake-torquing is also beneficial for turbocharged engines as it allows boost to build up before the launch, reducing turbo lag. The only problem is that there is a lot of stress on the transmission, and the consequent heat build-up can destroy your automatic gearbox. Unless your car has too much power for the tires to handle, a brake-torque launch usually will not spin the wheels. This is because the automatic transmission absorbs the shock by design, and brake-torquing actually reduces stress on the rest of the drivetrain. Instead of a sudden massive load, the drivetrain has the torque applied slower instead of one huge jolt.
So you are preloading the drivetrain, not the suspension. If you are spinning the tires, you need to either increase the tire's contact patch with the ground for more traction, or decrease your pre-launch rpm.
And good luck with the 'eyebrow' out of your intake... Unless you have increased the diameter of the MAF, you aren't gaining anything. I have run with mine out and have noticed a lean condition on the rear cylinders because of the concentration of EGR gasses in the front cylinders. The 'eyebrow' promotes even distribution of the EGR gasses. The only thing that removing the 'eyebrow', as you call it, will do is increase the off idle throttle response. WOT is limited by the associated sizes of other components in the intake path.
*EDIT* - Here's another very good quote for you:
If you're at the track for the first time and if you're trying to simply establish the baseline performance of your vehicle, forget about trying to cut a good light. It's simply too much for most beginners to work on both their reaction time and launch techniques at the same time, so don't be afraid to leave a second or so after the green light comes on. Your reaction time will suck, but the reaction time is not factored into the elapsed time. Only once the car can be launched perfectly each time and every time should one start worrying about cutting good lights (or beating the guy in the other lane, for that matter).

wow, i leave for another few days and i miss a heated debate... I don't know what my blazer runs in the quarter and i don't really care. It wasn't meant to be a drag racer. I go more for the rugged, muddin look in SUV's and trucks. 15.8 sounds a lot better than low 14's...and i really thought someone was kiddin with all that 14 sec talk. And try to run more than one pass. take everything out, which includes but is not limited to tools, spare tire, college books. And try to arrive at the track with like a 1/4 tank of gas or less, so you can cut the weight down...good luck
