i must put my 2 cents in. In all fairness Jon, your not the first to do that. I set up a 450 watt amp to my surround sound system, and hooked it into a Rockford Fosgate P2 10" in a bandpass in my room. i found a laptop power pack laying around that gave out 12.7 volt DC at 125 amp. it was spliced into the amp and turns on with the surround sound unit. And one of my uncles is a bass head as well - he used 2 15" subs.
