View Full Version : stale ass smoke smell
zero psi 04-23-2005, 10:32 PM i guess this would be the best place to post this. the previous owner of my blazer must have been a heavy smoker...and im not. anyone know how i can get that smell out of my interior? a bottle of fabreeze hasn't helped, neither has having the windows down all week. i also tried this oder eliminator stuff we use at work for the used cars we get in and it only worked for about half a day before the smell came back. any ideas?
timetoblaze 04-24-2005, 05:23 PM we had a car just like that it smelled really bad of smoke and stuff my step father rented a steam cleaner and just steam cleaned every thing in the car and there is probably a smell coming out of the vents right? i dont rememeber what he did for that but im sure it involed taking the vent things off and cleaning it out with some kind of solvent.... good luck
p.s do the steam cleaning when its warm but not blazing hot so you can leave the windows open to let the carpet drive without it getting the old damp smell ... then try the fabreeze after... should work
FatRyan 04-24-2005, 06:22 PM yeah, steam clean the **** outta it, then get some polo cologne (spelling?) and spay the **** outta it. you gotta get the polo in the green bottle..that stuff is STROOOOONG!
zero psi 04-24-2005, 10:02 PM cool, ill try that. thanks
m00nwater 04-25-2005, 10:50 AM I wonder if this would work....
One of our cats pissed in the house and we got this odour eliminator that takes the smell of cat pee away...it might work for other bad smells. You can get it at pet stores and it's about $10-$15 for a bottle
LoLoS10Blazer87 04-27-2005, 01:25 PM I heard that sparks can get rid of smoke smell.
I think you need to bag it and then drag the sh*t out of it. :D
Sorry, couldn't resist.
zero psi 04-27-2005, 11:27 PM dude, id love to! but i got too many projects. i got to finish the escort, then the sonoma, then i can attack the blazer. im trying to resist, but its hard. i need your support, man, your not helping[>:]

dobbist 04-30-2005, 10:19 PM you know if you smoked your self you propably wouldn't notice the smell [sm=badbadbad.gif] so go ahead and light one up that hole cancer thing is just a myth anyways ( oh didnt i mention i work for the tobacco industry [sm=joke.gif] )
zero psi 05-01-2005, 12:41 AM yeah, thats a good idea! its definatly worth a little lung cancer, ash tray breath, smelly clothes, yellow teeth, and a few years off my life! at least i wouldn't notice the smell. hhmmm...mabye not. :D
dobbist 05-01-2005, 02:05 AM well if you think about it the years it takes off is the years that aren't fun to live anyway!
zero psi 05-01-2005, 04:32 PM you got a point there.
BlaZeR FXB1581 02-08-2006, 10:36 PM i had the same problem with my blazer....the guy before must hav smoked 2 packs a day with the windows up.......go to a big car wash and ask about ionizing.....it worked well for me...sux that i still have all the burns in the carpet though
lowe42 06-11-2006, 10:24 PM does it stink more when the a/c is on max? My wife used to smoke in ours all the time with the a/c on max and it woulod recirculate, its pretty gross, but you need to clean out the vents and any filters that may be in there
