I thought I was right on assuming that 98+ had the full tailgate opening up(handle on the outside), and the 95-97 had the split tailgate(handle on the inside)(where the window goes up and the tailgate folds down) But then I was looking on ebay and saw a 03 with the folddown tailgate.

Do these things have any perticular order to anything?
I've seen floor shifts and column shifts, full tailgates and halfs, andother wierd things that seem to have not kind of order too them. I mean sometimes there on a 95-97 sometimes not. Sometimes on 98+ sometimes not.

I'm confused???

Mine's a 2004 2 dr column shift half tailgate. Dunno if that clarifies anything or not.

2000 with colum shifter and fold down tailgate...

I just have the one door. I wish I had a tail gate or half tail gait(tail gait like pickup and the window open).

I've got the glass hatch that opens up, and a tailgate that folds down...

Maybe it's an option, or it's a 2 door/4 door thing...

On the 4dr, the glass up, tailgate down was the standard with the complete rear liftgate as optional. Bravada's got the rear liftgate as standard as did some of the higher optioned Blazer's & Jimmy's. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think all 2drs come with the glass up, tailgate down design.

I believe the floor shift was standard on the Bravada (depending on year I'm talking about the '96+ Bravada) and was optional on the Blazer's & Jimmy's. It all depends on which boxes were checked when your particular vehicle was ordered.

i believe all 2dr's have split tailgate. i've never seen one with a full door, probably because of the curvature on the rear glass. i have a 2dr center shift with split tailgate. I'm doing my best to blow that thing down with the sub i just put in this weekend though. Alpine 10" type s with 400W going to it...whew! my brain is shaking!

2000 4 door....column shift...and the stupid whole up gate...wish I had the split one.....(the glass does just go up)....but the whole tail gate ultimately has to go up....

i have 2001 xtreme and window goes up and tailgate goes down. my buddy has a 98 2dr 4x4 and his is the same. a guy i work with has a 98 4dr 4x4and all of his goes up. i couldnt figure out what was going on

Kyle nailed it earlier in this post, the LIFTGATE is optional on 4-doors only All blazers and Jimmys are standard with a TAILGATE and LIFTGLASS....if you ordered a 4-door and spent the extra cash for this option youcould getthe LIFTGATE with a LIFTGLASS. All the 2-doors had a Tailgate and Liftglass. All the Bravadas and Envoys had the Liftgate and Liftglass. Mine is a 1997 LS and has a Liftgate and a floor shifter.

Yep another 2 door with the split tailgate, window combo. It's an 01. I don't see many of them around. Mainly 00 and before? Just an observation.

Full tailgate goes up on my 2000 4 door LT 4X4. Wish it had a fold down tailgate though that would be truckier and more classic Blazer like.

I love the fold down gate... I don't need to bring a chair when I go camping, lol

'98 Blazer LS 4x4, glass up lift gate up, column shifter. I am not sure which I would rather have, I think a liftgate makes for easier loading but with a tailgate you wouldn't need a chair to tailgate and have a little longer carrying ability (for like wood and ladders).
