View Full Version : wooohoooo back in business!
So the new nose is on the truck. its not painted yet so white truck, black nose, looks strange but not that bad. But the lights look good. I'll get night pictures when I can, just it started to rain so I couldnt finish hooking up the halo lights properly. I just shut the hood and this weekend i'll get it taken care of hopefully. :)
Anyways, here are some of the shots if anyone wants to see...

m00nwater 04-03-2007, 04:55 PM Looks good. I actually don't mind teh black for some reason...but I bet it will look better in white!
Zygoat 04-03-2007, 05:54 PM wow looks good, you might want to think about leaving it that way, it looks good.
Dabber 04-03-2007, 08:23 PM I like the Zip Ties, Keep the Zip ties HAHAHAHAHA
lastcoupe 04-03-2007, 09:04 PM That looks very nice Ellen, I mean Dory....lol. actually that whole truck looks nice...I wish mine was white!...Looks very good. I think I would put clear bulbs in the front turn signal sockets....just my opinion.
96Ls4Dr 04-03-2007, 09:13 PM Looks good. I want to get a black grill and those same lights too... How much did you end up paying?
90 for the grille, 167 for all four of the lights... and 25 for the emblem. :)
yeah the black isnt too bad for now. haha
EuroGoldLS 04-03-2007, 10:57 PM THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!! My blazer is going to have those headlights. it already has the signals. the grille is going to stay the same with the billet inserts and the chrome crossbar but the painted part will be painted black. Was it difficult to hook up the halos?
TheDesertFox 04-04-2007, 12:44 AM Id say leave it black, black=sexy
DankBlazer 04-04-2007, 12:46 AM Honestly I think it looks awesome how it is. :)
JST4SHO 04-04-2007, 05:20 AM Yeah I like it now too. Looks mean like that, kinda SS style if you will. How do those headlights hook up, do they use stock wiring. Also, I think you should get those bulbs for the turn signals and park lights that are blue when not lit but amber when lit, I have emm I think there slyvanias but not sure.
nj4x4blaze 04-04-2007, 08:33 AM Nice!
drperry 04-04-2007, 09:10 AM Looks good! Don't forget to properly install those headlights! lol They're aiming at the sky...
I'd lovea set of those myself, but it seems that particular seller doesn't accept paypal from anywhere but the US... Bollocks, lol.
rabbit0102030 04-04-2007, 05:37 PM Paint it white! IMO it looks like you have no grill or lights from a distance.......needs paint, and it will look very nice!
yeah im working on that. didnt have enough money or time to do it right now... its still a work in progress but it'll get there eventually. :)
im definitely painting it white but not the grille inserts, im not sure what to make them, leave them black, make them maybe a dark grey... not sure yet... i want to do purple accents to the truck, this might be the starting point...
blazerlt01 04-04-2007, 07:38 PM looks good, i dunno i like the black lol
rabbit0102030 04-05-2007, 12:00 AM Paint it white, and paint purple accents on the diamond pattern inside the grill. Get a purple pinstripe to match and thats a good start.
I like the purple idea since thats the color I would like to go with... :)
We'll see how it goes when I can paint it. Right now its staying as is till I can afford the paint work.
EuroGoldLS 04-09-2007, 02:43 PM Id clearcoat it with some metallic flakes. Or stay with thefactory black. I'd also later go with a set of the aftermarket JDM Black taillights too.
BTW how did the grille get busted up like that?
jimbosv650 04-09-2007, 03:02 PM hawt!
Nice ideas... but I got those TYC lights in the rear not too long ago, the black ones, so I'm going to keep em. Not sure about the paint yet.. i got time to think about it.
Some jerk slid on the ice and short stopped and I slammed into his hitch in the rear as I tried to stop on the ice too... so... thats the result.[>:]
EuroGoldLS 04-13-2007, 10:35 AM That sucks, I bet you got the blame for the accident too.
Something similar happened to my dad. We were on the way back to the beach house from the beach in my dad's '96 Z71 and a car locked 'em up in front of us, we slammed on brakes and stopped butthe '07Silverado behind uscouldn't stop. Itslammed intoour 3 ball Reese hitch. Needless to say she (driving the 07)came off worse, to tell you how bad it was,the hitch came within a half inch of the radiator. We didn't get any damage save for a broken exhaust hanger. She handled the damage to her Silverado without filing it on he insurance, which was a bit stupid because there was at least $5,000 worth of damageto it. I'm almost sure that didn't want thepolice to show up and run her plates...
Actually he was rather nice. He saw that he has such little damage and let me go. We both made sure the other was "ok" and he asked if I needed help. When I told him there wasn't much he could do he said ok well I am going to be very late to pick up my little girl, so I apologized and let him go. I figured saying I was sorry for hitting him would keep him happy and I wouldn't have to take care of his truck.
Heres the pic from my cell phone showing what I saw when I turned around that day and looked at my truck...

Awww...I'd be so mad at myself for letting that happen. I think I love my truck a little too much...
trust me i was pretty ticked off about it...
TonyOneX 04-15-2007, 05:50 AM in my opinion, that looks really really good! nice job :D
aw wait i didn't know about page 2.. is that the new front clip that got damaged??
speeddemon560 04-15-2007, 05:14 PM Someone asked how hard it is to hook up the halos. It is VERY easy.
EuroGoldLS 04-15-2007, 05:26 PM I can understand how ticked you were, I got backed into (I was inside the restaurant at the time), and the offenderleft before I cameoutand I said some words that would make a tough guy blush. I vividly recall walking around and around my car cussin and holering and drawing stares from passers by, as I watched the offender round the corner and leave...
