Default Big 3 Help

Hey guys,

Im doing the big 3 and i want to make sure i have the wires correct before i hook anything up.

Also, the best place for the negative to ground is the bolt holding the battery onto the tray right? or is it somewhere else?

Yes fuse the wire between the Alternator and Battery, the factory system has a fusible link in it, by running your wire directley from the back of to the alternator to the battery. You remove the fail safe and risk causeing damage. If I am correct the fusible link is only 30 or 40 amps.

With your grounding just replace your factory battery cable and ground it at the same points, and then run one from the negative post to the alternator bracket or somewhere on the block just ensure they are cleaned very well.

big3 is as follows

ground#2 batt to frame
#3 - Alt to batt (fused or unfused up to you. some cars come with factory lat fuses, some dont)

I dont se how a fuse will make a difference because current flows directly thru there back and forth

The power goes from the Alternator through the fuse then connects to your battery terminal. If you are planning on running a big draw from a system, I recommend fuseing it. It may also be required for certain stereo competitions also.
