Default New stereo confusion

I just ordered http://moourl.com/kjchg for my 93 blazer, and I was reading the sticky on stuff needed to install it but I am rather confused? I watched a couple videos and went off looking at a couple sites, and none of it says anything about an antenna adapter or wiring harness. The video showed the guy just pulling out the stock stereo, sliding in the new aftermarket stereo, and being able to use it.

If someone could please clear this up for me I would greatly appreciate it!

If you have a factory radio in your blazer, you WILL need the antenna adaptor, wiring harness and dash kit. Period.

crutchfield.com will have everything you need. That's where i got my radio and EVERYTHING came with it free. absolutely entirely free. All the adapters and and plates and such. But to buy separately, i think they cost around $30 or something? I'm not sure but you'll need the same things that i did. Only thing you'll need is something to connect the wires with, I.e. crimps, solder+iron.

Part numbers and descriptions from my order:

$20 120923042P Chevrolet S-10 Kit 1986-up, S/E, 1-inch extension - this was so it fit the dash...says one inch extension..not really noticeable at all so don't worry about it. but i think you'll need it
$10 120701677 GM Wire Harness receiver, 1985-up
$10 12040GM10 GM Antenna Adapter Motorola M to OEM antenna F

Well, the radio I got was a $199 radio, for i think $70, with $10 shipping, $80 total, so i think $30 for the other stuff I need is still saving me a decent amount. And thx, ill check out crutchfield.

you could also goto Walmart and get the scoche kits. For the basic head unit install its all the same stuff. i got the wire harness for $7 and the install kit for $15. No waiting and no shipping. I never get the antenna adapters until i have the unit and know i need it - most dont need it.

i dunno about a antenna adapter but i took my double din radio and took it to a local installer had them install it no prob for cheap and the double din fit the big gap nicely they even had to shave the dash a bit to fit the big **** cd dvd player.

So, just got my stereo today, removed the stock one from my blazer to find out if the antenna would fit, it doesn't, so i need an antenna adaptor as mentioned before. Where I am confused is there is 2 different adaptors, http://www.crutchfield.com/p_12040GM...?tp=2569&avf=N and http://www.crutchfield.com/p_12040GM...?tp=2569&avf=N, if you take a look at the second one, the silver male end is what is in my blazer already, where it plugged into the stock radio, and wont fit into the antenna cable on my aftermarket radio. if you take a look at the first link, the male end looks as if its ment to fit into the cable on my aftermarket stereo, but the female end doesnt look like it would fit the male end in my blazer.

If someone could make sense of this for me, I would really appreciate it!
