talking to crutchfield i learned a few things

one the speaker wires adapters will work there

and also learned clearance of speakers without having to mod

In the dash? We found 1.15" of available mounting depth in that speaker location.
0.52" of clearance under the stock speaker grills.

figured id pass that along

OK So I have 3 new sets of Boss Speakers. 4x6 in dash, 6.5 in front door, 5.35 in rear door. They all physically fit, although front door will require a little work as stocks were 6" only.

The real question is the new speakers are all 4OHM.
Front door OEM were 4 so no big deal there.
Rear door are listed as 9.5 and the dash just had the tweeters.
So can I install the 4OHMs in the back and dash or will it cause an issue with the receiver?

Thanks

Use the search function. Has been covered many times. And I believe there might be a sticky for it

I would also suggest installing the speaker, no matter the size or vehicle, using the steps outlined on THIS site. The difference is incomparable to just screwing it to that crappy factory plastic.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a pair (or just 1) of front door speakers for a 2001 Blazer? All I need is an OEM, or equivalent, not something outrageously expensive. The local Chevy dealer informed me that the OEMs are no longer availble from GM. I've checked out several web sites but any speaker that size is either a 2 or 3 way and costly. Thanks.

Its a 6-1/2'' speaker any auto store will have a replacement. Most it may cost is $30 for a single or if you go after market you could get a set for $60
