Default Problems with Wifes electronic dash in 1994 S-10 Blazer

Ok, my wife's 94 S-10 Blazer Tahoe LT's dash is having some problems, and I am wondering if they can easily be rectified.

1st, the lights that show the odometer and trip are out, so you cant see them at all. is this just some bulbs behind he cluster?

2nd, the RPM gauge goes up and down, like it's being rev'd, but it isn't. you could be sitting at idle, and the gauage is going up and down, from 0 to 6000 rpm's, but the engine isn't surging at all.

any help available? thanks.

don't know about the tach but I can tell you that there is a bulb for the cluster that can be replaced.

once the cluster is off its very easy to get to and change. also its a very common auto parts bulb. it may be a 192?? but nevertheless its an easy job

which then begs the question.... is the cluster an easy thing to take off? do I have to pull the steering wheel off as well?

those digi gauges often have problems. i know there a manual out on the internet somewhere to do self repairs on them. or else, theres this guy on ebay who offers to repair it if you send it in. based on info ive read about them, i would guess that the odometer and trip lights arent burnt bulbs, but rather a problem with the cluster electronics. and the cluster is really easy to get off. you def dont need to remove the steering wheel.

Sniper, my previous ride was an 88 cavvy z24 with the digital guages. A few months after i bought it my tach also puked. I found an electrical clip that came undone, so i plugged her back in and havent had problems since. no idea about the rpm tho, maybe swart knows.........
