need help with my stereo
Hey guys i just baught a 96 blazer LS 4 door 4x4, and im new to the forum. I baught a new stereo today and installed it, only to find out it wont fit. It sticks out about an inch out of the dash. Anyone know why/if i can fix this? Thanks

if u got the mounting peice there should be other ones.
Try a best buy for it. Is it a DVD unit? cause some of them do that. But theres still plenty of room in the back no matter what ppl say.
We got my brothers in his 03 S-10 all flush and all that.

Its not dvd its just a basic stereo unit.. i think i might have the wrong mounting piece, is my 96 blazer LS considered a s10 blazer? cuz the guy i got all of the stereo equipment from said it was and thats what mounting bracket i got.

i dunno if the stereos are identical on an 01 and 96 but with mine i had to remove a mounting bracket that what behind the factory radio...did you have to do this?

i dont know if i have to... all i saw was a piece of plastic that the factory radio attached to i think. but i dont think it came off unless i cut it off.. can i do that?

Nobody is making much sense here...
The factory stereo has a stud that goes through a tab about 5 inches behind the dash. You're most likely bumping the back of your aftermarket headunit on the bracket for the factory stereo. You can saw the tab off, or do like I did and just break it off with a pair of pliers. Once you get that out of the way the aftermarket stero should fit nicely in the dash.
