Default Leaking rear window

Hey guys, I have a strange problem that suddenly came about the other day. The rear window of my 91 s15 Jimmy has began to leak. When I inspected the seal they appear to be in good shape. Has anyone else had a problem like this? If so what did you do to fix it, without replacing the seals.... or will they simply need to be replaced.

Thanks

If it's leaking it's most likely the seals 90% of the time. Even tho it looks fine from the out side, it could not be fine on the inside around the window. It could also be rust. To find out where it is leaking from, run water around the whole window going at a small spot at a time around the whole window.

Weather its the seal or rust, you will need to remove the window and seal to fix it properly.

Is it the actual seal around the window that is leaking, or the seal where the hatch meets the body? If it's the hatch, check for play in the latch and adjust if needed. Clean the seal then apply a coat of white lithium grease to it. If it's the seal around the window itself, you can seal it by carefully lifting the edge of it with a putty knife and applying a bead of clear rtv sealer around it. Use a heat gun/hair dryer to dry the area if it is wet. Apply the rtv then press the seal firmly back onto the window and wipe the excess rtv off. Let it cure for 24 hrs before exposing it to moisture.
