My bike 'Jenna'
#231
Ok so long time no update.
I never got it registered last year because the fork seals were leaking and it wouldn't pass safety. I was too lazy to do it then, but I finally got around to doing it in feb.
Wasn't super hard, just a little daunting because I've never done anything like it before. Got it done though, then I got this thing.
And a vid.
Once I got it registered I decided to see if I could get it running better. When I did the jet kit I didn't get it tuned right so it would bog and surge at about half throttle. I did some research and found that my needle shims were probably to blame. I checked my plugs and found I was leaning out at that throttle position so I threw another shim on each needle, balanced out the idle screws and now she runs like a champ. Just hit 30K last week. We'll see how long she lasts.

Canging fork seals can be a little complex its something I need to do on my bike.
I didn't register mine last year either because I never got it to run and the bike developed serios electrical issues that I hope to sort out this year.My summer last year was work packed and I never had much time.On top of it all our summers only last 3 months and time goes by so fast. All the things I do are depending on the weather.

I've always loved the Bandits. Did you also upgrade the fork springs at the same time?

Nice lookin bike! I got my first one, a sportster 2 summers ago and traded for a night train this past summer. Just got it out of storage last week! Here's a before/after of both winter transformations.

Good to see the bandit is still alive!

I didn't do the springs because I decided to do them about 3hrs before work and I didn't order them beforehand. I'm only 125lbs so the softness isn't a huge deal. Maybe in the future though.

Not much going on with this in the past 5 months. Got some weird bogging at random times last couple of times I've rode it, but haven't looked into what it could be yet. Probably just sticking carb floats or something. Been looking for a house lately so that's where my focus is right now.
