Default 3.4 Crate motor with a blower

I'm not very well versed on what it takes to make a motor ready to install a blower...

As some of you may know, Fageol superchargers makes a blower for our pokey 2.8L engines. This unit pushes 5 lbs of boost. By definition, and according to my research, it will fit on the 3.4 crate motor (P/N 12363230*), because it's the same externally as the 2.8.

My question is; Would it be wise to just bolt a blower right onto a brand new crate motor? Granted, it's a small unit, but should I do anything to the internals of the crate motor to get it up to spec for this blower?

Seems like for the kind of money that would cost, $4,000, you could upgrade to a 4.3 or carb'd V8 swap,

i'm not sure the 3.4 will have bolt holes or bosses in the block for longitudinal mounting - by the time that block was being cast i'm pretty sure it only ever came in a FWD setup

the 3.8 saw use in the camaro/f-bodys so they all have the bolt holes or bosses ready for RWD

as far as can you put the blower on it - i would say yes but you'll likely only get 2.5 - 3.5 psi of boost out of it (guesstimate) - so no to needing upgrades there

now if you drop the pulley size you can get the boost back up but the blower will be REALLY screaming along, maybe the blower will take it maybe not. as far as the engine goes 5 psi seems a modest number in the forced induction game so i'd be inclined to say the engine would take that fine too - start crowding 7 and you're up into where the 3.8 s/c starts - and GM beefed up the internals on those...

No, the 3.4 was a replacement designed to swap out the 2.8, direct replacement motor, so it would have the "bolt holes or bosses in the block for longitudinal mounting"

my bad - the link was re-directing me to "http.ca" junk site so i didn't actually follow it

googled up the site: HT 3.4 V6 Crate Engine S10 Truck Repower 12363230

VERY neat find - is the blower for 2.8 carb'ed too then?

Do you already have the crate engine? Because the 4.3 was turbo'd in the cyclone and typhoon.. maybe go that route?
