Default 94 Yukon 350 upgrades?

I just bought a beautiful 94 Yukon but I cant leave stuff alone...lol
This is my third truck in the Blazer family and it's in nearly new condition.

But.... The 5.7 in it is pretty wimpy, from google I read about 200hp and that sucks.

It's a TBI and im wondering if anyone has got one of these to perform a lot better? Eddy makes an intake for it... But I'm more of a carburator guy... Not sure where to go with the TBI? I do want to stick with fuel injection though. I'm not gonna race the thing but it definetly needs more jam.

This will be a daily driver and will tow a camper or quad trailer in the summer.

There's always the possibility of just swapping the engine out too.... I have a 525hp 454 and an all aluminum 5.3LS that are good candidates. But the engine compartment is so clean I would like to keep the original engine in it.

Here she is...

there are several things you can do to "hop t up". edlebrock and others make cams and intakes that are much better performers then the stock stuff and will still allow you to use the stock computer and most the stock tbi. there are also "hyper"chips for the ecm that improve performance. you might try exhaust systems, possible cylinder head work or replacement. almost any thing you can do to a small block you do to this. check with the tech experts at the speed parts supplier(summit, comp cams etc.) they are a good source of info. also check with a local engine rebuilder/machine shop. good luck.

There are a lot of little things you can do for small gains yourself. I have a fullsize 94 blazer and have done lots of "google"ing on our tbi setups, check out the tbichips website under his mods area to get a few ideas then you can look around some more on the web to see what others have gotten done and their results. I have done a bored throttle body with air horns removed with adjustable fuel pressure regulator and injector pod spacer, K&N intake (way too expensive but it works), ditched the tbi spacer, bolt in headers, magnaflow bolt in highflow cat, electric fans.....stuff like that. I plan on putting in a vortec motor so I'm not going to go too deep into my old, worn out 230K motor but I hear doing a vortec head swap will give quit a bit of a hp boost. But there is a lot that goes with swapping the heads (new intake, re-route egr if applicable, etc). Good luck and have fun!!
Almost forgot......ebay is yer friend....heehee
