Default Duramax swap

So with GM releasing the new Colorados with a 2.8L Duramax option I got to thinking on an engine swap idea. They look to be either equal to or less than the size of the 4.3 and there have been plenty of people to turbocharge the 4.3 so I know there would be room for that. With improved gas mileage of around 27 mpg, around the same horsepower and increased torque to ~370ft-lb this sounds like an awesome idea. What are y'all's opinions on this? Do you think it would be worth doing or would is it just some idea that's completely out of the question?

Are you even able to find one to use? I'd imagine it must be cost-prohibitive unless you really, really, really love your Blazer!

I doubt you could, but like I said this is only an idea. I definitely don't have the time or money to do this, but there are people that do engine swaps in these trucks and do really, really, really love their blazers.

im sure it would be feasable but as stated untill you can find one that was totaled and probably even after that the cost would probably be well in excess of double the cost of a ls swap

I think that would be an awesome option down the road, right now yeah probably a bit much. Though I feel like this could be a fun project for someone with time and money on their hands.

Depending where the future goes, I think I would be interested in getting one of those in my Jimmy. But for now the 4.3 is humming along just fine

I love my duramax 2500, if I could cost effectively put the 2.8 duramax in my blazer that would just be the cat's meow. Unfortunately I haven't won the lottery yet so... I'll just stick with my 4.3
