Default transmission suggestions

i have a 4x4 blazer and i am a little unsatisfied with its performance
i am already planning a few engine mods.
but i think a new transmission is in order.
i have the shift on the fly transfer case(although i wish i hadn't)
and i am curious what my options are in the transmission department.
can i put a better transmission in my truck.
if so where can i find one.
thanks yall

First off Hello. Try Summit Racing and see if they have any tranny kits available.
I have a 4 speed slush box like many here that I'm going to fool with. I ordered an electronic shift improver and attempting to get firmer shifts.

Good Luck and tread heavily!

well i looked on summitracing.com and it was like someone sent me to the best candy store in the world.
not only did i research and find that the transmission i have can take a considerable beating and still run fine. but i also found numerous other useful additions to my truck. which obviously makes sense since it is a performance parts dealer.
but it was much more useful than any other site i have dealt with.
and i should be able to do alll the improvments on my transmission for under 200 bucks
and all my vehicle mods will only run me around 1000 dollars.
i can't thank you enough.
i got a shift kit, console mounted shifter, a whole new exhaust system, performance chip. various engine parts and gaskets,
and a tach. along with a transmission fluid cooler. all for less than a thousand.

Yeah, they have all the goodies. I'm waiting for my transmisission toys too.
I went though some "archived" posts and found even part numbers guys put on their threads. I ordered my stacked cooler through Autoz...
Post some pics on this thread and share whether you're satisfied with what you have. I'm gonna but not until it warms up, still 25 F during the day.

Instead of getting a shift kit try a Hypertech programmer 111. THey are really good and change firmness and rpm shift points. I got mine on ebay for half of what they sell for. Just make sure that it was set back to stock when buying on ebay.

Fooling the tranny isn't anything like rebuilding it with better parts.

4L60E Rebuild Thread

I should be doing a final write up on it here soon.
I will say this. Amazing.

You are right but just to change the firmness and shiftpoints a Hypertech will do just fine and you get other benfits with it as well.
