Default 1995 intake manifold gasket

I see everyone say to use the Felpro MS98002T gaskets on the 1996 and newer engines. Unfortunately the bolt holes wouldn't line up with the holes on this gasket. I can't seem to find a gasket of that kind of construction for the 1995 4.3L. Does anyone know if such a beast exists?

Yeah, I ended up grabbing the MS95832's the other day. I was just hoping someone might know of a new style metal gasket instead of the super old composite style.

Not quite sure why the MS95832 don't have a divider seal between the 2 intake ports that are right next to each other. I know the original composite gasket did. Is it not necessary to isolate the intake ports from each other?

the running gear in my avatar is made out of a 92 gmc jimmy with a 4.3 vin W shes had these felpro gaskets in her for two years with no probs - IMO as long as they are FELPRO you can't go wrong

Did you just bolt them in as is or did you seal in between the two intake ports with silicone/rtv?

dry - use the RTV on the ends only - the opening dosen't seem to bother anything

I have a feeling I may need to use some rtv around some of the coolant passages because of the amount of corrosion and pitting on the manifold. Not sure if that is a good or bad idea but that was my first thought on how to get things to seal back up.

I will post some pics of the manifold later tonight.

I've seen worse - felpros should seal it - if worried light coat of RTV, I perfer dry - you wasn't gettin much water flow tho, good luck with cleaning all that out - looks like a gel type stop leak was used or was that a paper towel - lol

Ok, thanks. A guy at work said he thinks he has some of the 3m bristle discs so I will probably borrow the fine one and try to clean things up a little better. Still think I will be putting some rtv on there just to make sure. I don't want to be doing this again any time soon.

Those are just paper towels, I never put any stop leak in there. Don't trust the stuff and don't want to deal with the potential aftermath.
