1997 blazer running badly
So I got a 1997 blazer 4dr 4x4 just recently, it cranks for 4-5 seconds before starting, once it starts the whole vehicle shakes. The engine visibly shakes and idles @ 500rpm, it doesnt die just runs rough. Its running rich, can tell from the exhaust smell which leads me to believe that the spider, pressure regulator or injector(s) is leaking(will be getting fuel pressure checked Wednesday). I also noticed one of the spark plugs wires had a cut in it, when I unplugged the wire from the distributor there was no change in how the engine ran so that could be part of the issue as well( have new wires and plugs ordered). The check engine light will flash only @ idle. Soon as u put it in gear n start driving it goes off n stays off till u put it in park n let it idle for a minute or two. I've spent hours looking through these forums(which has been very helpful n got me this far) and has me believing that the issue is the spider injectors. Wednesday I'll be getting the oil changed, fuel pressure tested and codes pulled, is there any other things I should have checked while its in the shop? I also pulled the vacuum line from the rear of the intake and noticed the inside has black carbon build up in places then other places were golden looking as if it was washed with gas, I'll try to post pictures. The other issue I'm having is play in the steering, how can I pin point where the play is coming from and what ball joints are bad, or if the pitman arm is worn that badly?

Sounds like it is the fuel injector assembly.
The pressure test will tell for sure.
I have a 95 and changed mine ....oh 5 times because I kept getting leaky ones.
As for the steering, I would get the front end off the ground , use jack stands!
And visually inspect all the steering components and see if there is any play by hand. Pitman arm, Idler arm steering damper bushings etc.
You may need a friend to help as well.
