1997 Transmission No 3rd or 4tf
Just hit 350k miles on my 97 4Dr 2WD Blazer with automatic transmission. Trying to determine if I have a bad 2-3 solenoid or other internal damage.
Reverse, first, and second work fine. It is not able to **** into 3rd. It acts like it has gone into neutral, RPMs shoot up, but it does manage to have just a little bit of acceleration. If I get it up to around 3,500 RPMs, then back off the gas for a second, it will shift, this is with it set in OD. If I manually shift down into 3rd, it acts like it's back out of gear with RPMs shooting up.
No SES light is on, but I did have a code appear months ago regarding it detecting slipping. I don't recall the specific code.
Some other background details.
-Transmission has over 200k miles on it. Previous owner replaced It around 100k with a new transmission.
-I had it flushed a few years ago, possibly been around 100k miles.
-The fluid is pretty dark and burnt.
-When it was 'working' shifting into all gears, it would sometimes have a slight delayed and hard shift, especially when it was hot after long freeway driving. This typically seemed to happen between 1-2 gears.
-No leaks, and proper fluid level.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Thanks for the replies guys. Bummer, I was hoping it was going to be an easier fix.
After learning how the solenoids work, I realized that they were probably not the issue.
For anyone that sees this post in the future, the solenoids work in conjunction to make a shift happen. If you are getting some gear shifting, your solenoids are probably working.
1st Gear: Solenoid 1-2: ON Solenoid 2-3: ON
2st Gear: Solenoid 1-2: OFF Solenoid 2-3: ON
3st Gear: Solenoid 1-2: OFF Solenoid 2-3: OFF
4th Gear: Solenoid 1-2: ON Solenoid 2-3: OFF
