1999 transmission fluid low, no signs of external leak
i have a 1999 Blazer that I have started having problems with slippage. The tranny fluid keeps showing low after a couple of days, but there are no signs of an external leak. Where could the fluid be going and how do I correct this.

Assuming that it is 4wd, I would pull the fill plug located on the back of the transfer case. There are two plugs, the fill plug is the higher of the two. If fluid pours out, then the input seal on the front of the transfer case is leaking, allowing transmission fluid to flow into the transfer case. If your truck has the 3-button 4wd switch in the dash, you will also want to pull the vacuum line connector off of the 4wd vacuum switch that is located on the top of the transfer case above the front output (easiest to access from the back of the t-case reaching up over the top towards the front). If there is fluid in the vacuum lines, then the switch will need to be replaced and the lines and any vacuum devices that have taken in fluid will need to be cleaned. Vacuum devices include the vacuum actuator for the 4wd, the vacuum reservoir in the front fender, as well as the controls and many of the valves in the HVAC system. That last part can be a real pain to get cleaned up properly.
