So about a month ago i noticed my blazer was starting to struggle up hills and when you floored it, it had a second or two of hesistation before my rpms would even move. after some research i found out the the fuel pressure regulator is a common problem in these vehicles. so.... i removed the upper intake manifold and then removed the old regulator and installed the new one. i then put everything back together and attempted to start it. at first it attempted to start ran rough then died. After that the starter would no longer turn over my engine and the starter even began to smoke. so i find out that i have hydrolocked my engine and have to take out the spark plugs to relieve the pressure. Once the plugs have been removed large amounts of fuel came out each cylinder. so i attempt to turn the engine over and no problem turns over fine now. so come to find out i have improperly seated the fuel pressure regulator and has leaked a good litre or two of fuel.
So i removed the intake manifold (Again). and verify that yes it is leaking. i pulled it off and reseated it and now no leaks what so ever. so i put everything back together again, reinstall my spark plugs.
I attempt to turn it over and it wont start. i sprayed starter fluid inside the intake and presto it started up. it will remain running and even start back up again but it runs really really rough and it will die if it gets over 3000 rpms. i do know that some gas made it way into my oil and my oil now smells like gasoline.
