Default 2002 Blazer Engine Temp

I have just recently noticed that my Blazer will fluctuate the engine temperature from around 195 to 230. It will jump up to 230 while I am accelerating or going up hills for about 10-15 seconds then it will jump back down to 195. What could be causing this?

How's the coolant level inside the radiator? Have you recently had the coolant system serviced? It sounds like low coolant level/air in the system.

I haven't checked the coolant level in the radiator. I will also get the system serviced. Thanks for the suggestions.
