The truck would not shift out of first gear. My mechanic called and said he thinks something deep in the tranny has gone bad. I don't think he is trying to screw me. He said he was not sure what, until he dug a bit deeper. He did mention, to his surprise, the fluid was not burnt. He mentioned it could be a clutch or shifter selonoid.

The rub is that the truck only has 54k miles on it. Are ZR2 transmissions more prone to failure than non ZR2 Blazers?

If I have to get a new tranny, which ones give me the best value for my money?
