Default Rough shift from 1st to 2nd

1997 blazer LS. 175,000mi. Right before the motor took a dump 4 years ago a new tranny was put in. We put 3000 miles on it. 4 yrs later and $4,000 poorer the transmission is acting funky! If i accelarate heavy its not as jerky between 1st and 2nd gear. But if im just cruising from my house to the stop sign it shifts HARD! Enough to jerk my head back. If this is signs of a bad tranny I AM GOING TO LOSE IT!!! I put my heart and my bank account into this sucker and its just a piece of s*** money pit. Anybody have any ideas why its doing this? Tranny was just seviced with the pan dropped down. And with 4,000 in receipts and new parts from the tires brakes and motor how much you think i could sell for?

A harsh 1-2 shift can be caused by a number of things as evidenced by the threads found using the search term "harsh+shift". Specifically this thread:

Thanks brother really appreciated. Sounds like my next step could be valve body...bcuz i have changed my tps (which was founded in my diagnosis check) We will see. So my next question would be that if i neglect it or live with it is it going to ruin my farely new transmiission?
