94 S10 Blazer drivability issues
My fiance and I have a 94 S10 Blazer with the 4.3 Vortec. I have to give it gas to get her to start up, she idles rough, new plug wires, but fouled plugs, and a few vac leaks. What is the best cheap plugs to get, and what do I gap them to?

that was my first thought, but we arent getting a gas smell from the block. putting in new plugs got rid of the raw gas smell from the exhaust, had a friend listen to me start it up, he says fuel pump is going bad. its loud, and cuts off after about 2-3 seconds (not sure if thats supposed to happen, but its possible) Runs fine after about 25 mph, but shuts off if i keep it in drive when stopped.

94 may be an OBD 1 so im not sure checking codes will tell you much but you should still check fuel pressure at the test port and the fuel filter outlet. definitely sounds like a pressure or leak down problem. And you really don't want to use cheap plugs or any cheap tune up parts in these engines. They are very sensitive to this and you should only use AC Delco parts. That's not a sales pitch it is just the cold hard truth..

My motor would hesitate an run like it needed more gas Once in a while. At first I thought it was a clogged fuel filter. So I replaced it and everything seem to be just fine for about three months. One day it wouldn't start i notice fuel pump was not making its wining sound. Switched out the relay switch an it's started. Then about two weeks later it happen again an stayed that way. Replaced fuel pump an it solved the problem for good. I was shocked to fine out that all the wires on old pump where burnt badly. I hooked it up outside of tank and it smoked an sparked. If there was oxygen in my tank my car would have caugh Fire. Long story short. Replace the fuel pump it's only $100 it might save you from something bad happening.
