94 Vortec Wont start after warmed up
Hey, guys new to the forum, I just purchased a 94 S10 Blazer with the vortec 4.3 runs great but after it's warmed up if I turn it off it won't start again until cooled off, I thought CPS but read the vortec doesn't have one, something to do with being integrated in the DIST? Any help would be greatly appreciated

First listen and verify fuel pump - in tank- runs for 2 seconds when you switch ign on before you crank, Shoudl do this each time you switch ign on.
verify spark:
Remove HT wire from coil at distributor. attach to a spark plug, lay plug against engine and crank. Should be hot blue spark, and should hear it snap, 3 times per engine rev.
Hard start procedure:
If engine wont start when warm, hold accel to floor while cranking ten seconds. If it then wants to fire, wait ten minutes and try, again holding to floor. If it then starts, your engine was flooding. Probably leak inside plenum.
If no change at second try, crank while pumping accel. If it wants to start, continue another ten seconds.
For some reason injectors dont deliver enough fuel.
Whether or not those work, get a fuel pressure gauge and check BOTH pressure and leakdown rate.
What is the pressure with key on?
How long till it loses ten pounds?
Do not bother with engine running, just switch key on.

Take the ignition control module off the bottom of the distributor. Take it to your local auto parts store and have it tested. Usually when there's a temperature-related ignition problem it's related to the ignition control module.
I had a similar problem with my '94 Blazer last summer. The fuel pump was going bad. It occasionally wouldn't start when it was warm. I replaced the fuel pump and it has started every time since.

If the engine is not cranking over when its warm , I would say that the timing is off . Not having spark or fuel would not effect it turning over , it just wouldn't start . Could even be a bad starter , we had a 68 camaro that would do the same thing .
