97 Blazer tick, need help (With VIDEOS!)
So I have a 1997 Chevy Blazer with 170k miles on it. About a week ago, I noticed a small irregular tick when accelerating. It was so small I doubted weather or not it had always existed.
Well, yesterday, the sound doubled in intensity and duration. Here is our info about the noise.
It occurs when applying acceleration in park, neutral, braked, and in motion, though it is loudest while in motion IMO.
It does not occur while coasting or stopping.
It occurs in any gear.
It was due for an oil change anyways, so I took it over to be changed and checked. I got the worst news ever- that it sounded like it was coming from inside tranny. However, I found a video on here (yay!) of a sound almost EXACTLY the same. That guy said he got it fixed, and that it was the u-joints being seized and having no lube. Because there is a GLIMMER of hope that it is NOT the tranny, I am seeking second opinions.
Here is the video of MY car. I tried to record less wind noise by having the iPad in my car, but it made the noise more faint (which is tough because its higher pitched).

Here is the video of the OTHER USER, bassson, who had the same noise emitting from his car. This might be a much louder video, so beware...

Alas, opinions?? Thanks guys!

I think I have the exact same tick noise in my 2000 Blazer LT. Kind of makes the noise of "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" without the BANG! I had it looked at by a mechanic and he said it sounded like the serpentine belt / pulleys.
