97 GMC Jimmy leaking oil from oil pressure sensor?
#1
I've got a 97 GMC Jimmy with a 4.3l v6 and auto trans with 4wd. (125k miles)
The oil filter is remote, mounted under the radiator, and accessible via a flap in the plastic cover plate. On the remote fixture there's what appears to be an oil pressure sensor attached, pointing straight down. When I'm running the engine, I'm seeing oil streaming out from the bottom of this sensor. (Not from higher up, I mopped off the filter, the lines, etc, it's the sensor). What bothers me is that the sensor I'm looking at in Autozone's catalog doesn't match what's on my Jimmy.
Does anyone know of an after market oil temp sensor or pressure switch that attaches to the same metal adapter the oil filter is screwed into?
I can probably supply a picture or more information if needed.
Thanks,
Louis

Took a few parts stores, but I found out my sensor was a Napa Part: https://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/C...620_0216311030
Put a new one in, topped off my oil, ran for 5 minutes, drove for another 10, no more leaks!
Case Closed.

More information is needed.
I highly doubt that is an oil pressure sensor.
The 4.3L V6 has the oil sensor on the back of the block near the distributor, drivers side, same place as the V8.
Im thinking your oil filter is leaking and that sensor is for your air bags.
A pic would help a ton.
