Default 99 Jimmy seized engine

My daughters 99 4.3 4wd engine seized the other day, I found a 98 blazer 4wd engine/tranny for 675.00 with 112,000 miles, will it go in without issues, should I replace intake gaskets? others? freeze plugs?
New to forum, thanks for help

They will be practically identical, but there may be two temp sensors in the engine on the '98 motor depending on when it was produced. Somewhere in the '98 time frame is when GM changed from two temp sensors (PCM in the LIM near the t-stat housing - Gauges in the driver side cylinder head) to one combined sensor (in the driver side cylinder head). Nothing to worry about, just leave the sensor in the LIM and swap the one in the cylinder head in from your engine.

I would definitely change out the LIM gaskets unless you can see that they have been replaced with the updated, metal framed Felpro set.

Freeze plugs... Not unless they are leaking and/or corroded. Rarely do they leak on these engines.

But you might want to inspect the front and rear main seals. It would suck to get a leak at either once the engine was in.
